Global Vision International (GVI) was formed in 1998 to provide support and services to international charities, non-profits and governmental agencies, through volunteering opportunities, internship programs, training and direct funding.
Welcome!
This is my fundraising page for the Volunteer Childcare Program that I am doing in the Northwestern coast of South America – Ecuador – leaving on the 26th of THIS MONTH – SEPTEMBER!!
Some of you may have heard me talking about this, and others ‘meh – not so much’, BUT I think this work that I will be doing is really important and that’s why I need YOU! I will be staying in Ecuador for a month and teaching kids at a small mountain school in the farming area of Otavalo. I have to pay a FEE to participate and I need some help raising these FUNDS. All you have to do is click the DONATE button! You can donate however much you like (my goal is to reach the 2k and a bit that I have been asked to pay (and anything extra goes into my flights to get there), but I believe every cent counts towards this great cause.
Please feel free to ask me any questions and check out my Q&A blog HERE to get some more detail on where I am going and how you can help 🙂
In the meantime check out this video of life in Ecuador on the project.
THANKS!

Oooh also check this FB page out that the lovely Ben helped me create (along with this blog!)
SCROLL DOWN! – I will update the FB on my adventures with pics and post from the FIELD (literally :P)
This explains the compelling reasons why these resources and donations to GVI and the program are so important to these mostly indigenous communities in Ecuador.
The aim of our project is primarily around education for the children, with a secondary view to help the community as a whole wherever we can. With our help we can reduce the teacher to student ratio from 40 kids to 1 teacher, down to 10 to 1, or less, and with volunteers dedicated to young children we can ensure they get the specific care and attention they need to help promote their early educational development.
